Carl Kruger, Project Director at B2B Compliance, had top spot at the recent Brewing, Food and Beverages Industry Annual Conference. Speaking on the impacts on Producers from the expected changes due from the Recast WEEE Directive, Carl highlighted the dangers that business-to-business Producers could be forced to pay considerably more, unless the lobbying which B2B Compliance is currently undertaking, as one of the official advisors to BIS, is carried out.

This concern builds on the fact that, hitherto, the legislation has been focused on business-to-consumer products since they are more numerous – whereas there are far more business-to-business registered producers and far more people are employed in the UK by such producers than in the business-to-consumer sector. These two facts have been raised with BIS and they have acknowledged that they need to be addressed.
